The Community of Madrid, through the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, supports the creation and maintenance of protected jobs for people with disabilities with the granting of the 2022 aid, on the one hand, to finance the salary cost of people with disabilities hired in Special Employment Centers and, on the other hand, of the Support Units such as the one Envera has in its Special Employment Center.
The Support Units (UNAP) are composed of professionals who provide personal and social adjustment services to people with disabilities in Special Employment Centers, helping them to overcome barriers, obstacles or difficulties that workers with disabilities may have in the process of incorporation into a job, as well as the permanence and progression in the same.
In the case of Envera, psychologists, social workers and job coaches from UNAP provide accompaniment, counseling and socio-labor support in the Special Employment Centers with which Envera provides stable, protected and supported employment to more than 850 people with disabilities, 50% with intellectual disabilities, throughout Spain.
The purpose of the aids to the professional activity support units, within the framework of the personal and social adjustment services of the special employment centers, within the program for the labor inclusion of people with disabilities in the protected labor market, is to subsidize the labor and Social Security costs derived from the indefinite hiring of the people who work in the professional activity support units. The final beneficiaries of this program will be people with disabilities with greater insertion difficulties. The order is endowed with 3,500,000 Euros, financed with funds from the budget of the State Public Employment Service, and in the case of the Envera Special Employment Center, 330,541.51 Euros have been granted to support the work of the UNAP.
On the other hand, the Community of Madrid contributes to the economic support of part of the payroll of professionals with disabilities in the Special Employment Centers, as well as to the stability of their contracts by promoting permanent contracts, as measures in the social and labor integration of people with disabilities.
Envera assures that the granting of this aid is "fundamental for the maintenance of jobs and to guarantee equal opportunities for people with disabilities in access to employment". In addition, they point out that "the Community of Madrid continues to demonstrate that it is an exemplary administration" with the granting of these subsidies within the program of labor inclusion of people with disabilities in the protected labor market.
Last semester, the General Director of the Public Employment Service of the Community of Madrid, BelĂ©n GarcĂa, visited one of the Special Employment Centers that Envera has in Madrid, where nearly 200 people with disabilities work.
The professionals with disabilities and those responsible for the different areas of production explained to the general manager their work and the importance of being able to work. "It means having autonomy and an important help for our families," explained Juana Román, an Envera worker and resident who has been working in the handling area for 31 years, among other jobs, cartoning the cutlery delivered on board the airplanes.
