The Ombudsman, Soledad Becerril, visited this Wednesday the Comprehensive Center for Disability Care that Envera has in the town of Colmenar Viejo, Madrid. Upon her arrival, the Ombudsman was received by José Antonio Quintero, President of Envera, and Marta Muñoz, head of the Tutelar Foundation.
Soledad Becerril has been very interested in the work done by employees with intellectual disabilities Special Employment Center, who explained the tasks they perform in document management, laundry and handling.
The beneficiaries of Envera's assistance services have shared their activities with the Ombudsman, who has also been able to learn about the work of the professionals of the Residence for people over 45 years old with intellectual disabilities, the Day Center for severely affected people and the Occupational Center. In the latter Soledad Becerril has participated in a special program of Radio Terrícola, workshop conducted by people with intellectual disabilities.
During the program, the speakers of Radio Terrícola have had the opportunity to ask the Ombudsman for her powers and the work she does. Ivan, a beneficiary of the Occupational Center, also wanted to remember with his question the passage of Becerril in front of the mayor of Seville. For its part, the Ombudsman wanted to encourage all participants to know the institution and, if you have any complaints, send them through its website.
The Ombudsman ended her visit by congratulating Envera for its work and thanking it for the "warm" welcome it has received. José Antonio Quintero wanted to recognize "the work of the Ombudsman in looking after the interests of all citizens, especially the most vulnerable, whom she helps to have a voice" and added that "it is an honor to have this institution in the year that Envera celebrates its 40th anniversary under the slogan We can all be the best at something, and the honorary presidency of Her Majesty Queen Letizia".
