On the occasion of the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Envera and the Military Emergency Unit (UME) have presented this Monday the Solidarity Calendar 2017 in an event chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, Luis Martinez-Sicluna, and that has been held in the auditorium of the Government Delegation in Madrid. In addition to the Subdelegado, during the presentation of the almanac starring people with intellectual disabilities served by Envera throughout their life cycle, have intervened the president of this NGO, José Antonio Quintero; and Lieutenant General Chief of the UME, Miguel Alcañiz. Three students of Secondary Education in Envera have told their experience with the UME during the realization of the Calendar.

In this very special project for Envera in what will be the year of its 40th anniversary, members of the different battalions and units of the UME have participated along with people who receive care in different care services of the organization, from Early Intervention, Training, Occupational Center, Day Center or Residences.

The Calendar, which reflects the values that a fair and committed society should have, aims to raise awareness of the challenges that people with disabilities face every day in order to break down prejudices and achieve goals that seem far away, following the example of the EMU which, ten years after starting out, has shown that we can all be the best, that we are all important.

The images that appear in the calendar have been taken by the photographer Miguel Berrocal with the collaboration of the Make up with love solidarity make-up team. It will be priced at three euros, destined to the Association's projects, and can be purchased at Envera Punto de Inclusión in the Islazul Shopping Center and Carrefour Ciudad de la Imagen, as well as at the different Envera branches in Madrid, Colmenar Viejo, Barcelona, Malaga, Tenerife and Las Palmas.
