The Regional Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures of the Community of Madrid, Jorge Rodrigo, and the General Manager of Envera, Enrique Grande, have signed a new collaboration agreement for ten students with intellectual disabilities from Envera to carry out work training practices at the facilities of the Regional Ministry and the Social Housing Agency, which will enable them to acquire the skills and abilities necessary for their incorporation into the labor market.
Enrique Grande thanked the Minister for the exemplary role played by the Department he heads in receiving these students so that they can receive on-the-job training and forge a professional future for themselves. There is no more important social policy," added Grande, "than that which promotes employment, and today the Community of Madrid is taking a giant step in this direction".
Likewise, the general director of Envera wanted to thank the president of Madrid, Isabel DĂaz-Ayuso, "that in the journey of life that Envera makes alongside people with disabilities we have always been able to count on her support".
Finally, Enrique Grande stated that "it is a great joy for Envera to witness this leap towards real equality of opportunities and inclusion, which is also a leap towards a better society for all".
Meanwhile, Jorge Rodrigo closed the ceremony showing his satisfaction with the agreement with Envera, "an organization that has been working almost 50 years for the social and labor insertion of people with intellectual disabilities", knowing that will help them to occupy their place in the world with dignity. The counselor stressed that, in addition to being an agreement that protects the law in its proclamation of equal opportunities for all, "we sign it from the conviction of this government in that it is a reality.
And addressing the Envera students, he said: "Be calm because we are all going to learn from this experience, you and us, which is much more important. And above all, together we are going to do something that is fundamental: work for the general interest and work for all the people of Madrid".
These work training internships will last for three months, with a working week of no more than 20 hours. The content of the internships will consist of performing registration, filing and administrative support tasks in general in different units of the Regional Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures and the Social Housing Agency.
The signing ceremony took place in the new Antonio Palacios Pavilion at the Regional Ministry's headquarters in Madrid's Calle de Maudes, and was witnessed, in addition to the ten Envera students of legal age who will take part in this program, by our organization's Training Director, RubĂ©n Ortiz, together with the entire team of teachers and job coaches; the managing director of the Social Housing Agency, Eusebio González; the general technical secretary of the Regional Ministry, MarĂa Teresa Barcons, as well as the deputy director of Archives, MarĂa del Mar LĂłpez Vaamonde.
