The mobile unit of Radio Terrícola, made by people with intellectual disabilities from Envera, has traveled to the Vallehermoso Stadium in Madrid, which this weekend hosts the Spanish Adapted Athletics Championship organized by FEDDI and FEMADDI and in which more than 250 athletes are participating.

Envera's reporters Kenia, Nuria, María José, Carlos and Adrián have covered the first trials that took place this Friday morning and have had the opportunity to interview athletes, organizers and entities.

This special program was inaugurated by Marcos Herrero, Sports Vice-President of the Spanish Sports Federation for People with Intellectual Disabilities (FEDDI), who was followed by athletes such as world relay runner-up Deyanira Hidalgo from the Ciudad de Puertollano Paralympic Club, Santander champion Carmelo Herrería, the Anfas team from Navarre and former Envera rhythmic gymnastics coach Celia Garrote, currently on the national championship coordination team.

The interviewers brought the program to a close with the participation of Sofía Miranda, Sports Delegate of the Madrid City Council and President of the Barajas Municipal Council, who pointed out the importance of the event for the city of Madrid, which is the current World Capital of Sport 2022 and where inclusion is always present.

For Envera, as a pioneer of inclusive sport in Spain that has been developing activities for more than three decades, sports practice is essential in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Hence the great link between the sports world and this NGO that was born from Iberia 45 years ago and today, being an organization open to the whole society, has more than 200 athletes in its Club Ícaro-Envera and collaborates with organizations such as the Spanish Paralympic Committee.
