Seven people with disabilities from Envera begin their internships at the Colmenar Viejo City Hall.

Madrid | April 25, 2019

Seven young people who are preparing to enter the labor market in the occupational center of Envera - Association of Employees of Iberia Parents of People with Disabilities, have been incorporated this Wednesday to the municipal staff of the City of Colmenar Viejo for work experience for the next three months.

The incorporation of these young people is the result of the agreement signed in 2018 between the City Council and the non-profit organization that comes to expand and strengthen the collaboration between the two entities to achieve greater and better integration of people with intellectual disabilities.

The agreement has allowed, on this occasion, the incorporation of four women and three men to different municipal services and dependencies:

√ Citizen Service
√ Paraguay Street Senior Citizen Center
√ Mayor's Department
√ Department of Family and Social Services

The Mayor of Colmenareño, Jorge García, and the Councilor for Family and Social Services, Carolina Calvo, welcomed the new students in the plenary hall of the town hall and wished them the best of luck during their internships in the municipal corporation.

For Envera, having the exemplary support of the Colmenar Viejo City Council is fundamental to continue breaking down prejudices, to contribute to equal opportunities and for people with disabilities to demonstrate that we can all be the best at something.

Thanks to the agreement between the City Council and Envera, there are now fifteen people with disabilities who have completed their internships in Colmenar Viejo. Last year the first eight students did it for a period of two months.

This agreement is in addition to the agreements that Envera has with the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, the Community of Madrid and the City Council of the capital for people with disabilities to carry out internships in the public administration.
