Envera convenes a free workshop to promote active aging and healthy living among older people with intellectual disabilities or developmental disorders, which will take place in Malaga during the month of September, from 4 to 29.

The program, which is funded by the Malaga City Council and is free of charge for those who take it, addresses five fundamental aspects in the lives of elderly people with disabilities: prevention of dependence and cognitive maintenance; promotion of physical and mental health; promotion of safety; active participation in social life; and individual and family care service.
To this end, social and psychological care will be provided to all participants and their families and various workshops will be held, such as:
- Cognitive stimulation
- Daily living skills
- Adapted sports
- Life Notebook
- Social coexistence
According to INE data, in the province of Malaga there are about 75.400 people with disabilities over 45 years, age at which it is considered that begins the process of premature aging in people with intellectual disabilities, and since 2010 is working in a more structured way the concept of "active aging", collected especially in the White Paper on Active Aging of Andalusia, where from a cross-cutting work and a multidisciplinary methodology.
Under this prism, the workshop is organized and taught by professionals from Envera's Comprehensive Care Service for People with Disabilities, a non-profit organization with more than 45 years of experience in accompanying and caring for people with disabilities throughout their life cycle so that they can take their place in the world with dignity.
