Three Envera students do internships in Colmenar Social Services

The City Council of Colmenar Viejo has given three people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to perform their training practices in the Senior Center and the Department of Social Services of the town.

Madrid | September 28, 2015

The three students of the Envera training center and its Initial Professional Qualification Programs have worked during the months of July and September in the Senior Center and the Social Services department of the Colmenar Viejo City Council.

These are internships in the area of Auxiliary Administration and Management Services, financed by the Regional Ministry of Education and Employment of the Community of Madrid.

The training followed by the young people in PCPI is the Workplace Training Program, in addition to having received basic notions of occupational risk prevention, environmental awareness, equal opportunities and work habits.

During their work experience, the employees were assisted by a coordinator who guided them, helped them and facilitated the tasks to be performed.

"The agreement between the three parties -whereby the Community of Madrid pays for the training, Grupo Envera provides it and the City Council facilitates the spaces for the internships- allows these people not only to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities they have learned through the theory of the courses but also, and very importantly, to make contact with the mechanics of a job, something that results in the improvement of their abilities, their autonomy and their integration into society," said the Councilor for Family and Social Services of Colmenar, Carolina Calvo.
