Madrid | January 16, 2020

On September 25, 2015, world leaders adopted a set of global goals to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new agenda, known as Agenda 2030, which brings together the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) (SDGs) established by the United Nations. Each of these goals has specific targets to be achieved in the next 10 years.

To achieve this, the UN assures that "everyone has to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society (...) Creativity, knowledge, technology and financial resources from all of society are needed to achieve the SDGs in each context".

At Envera we are fully convinced that the SDGs are goals to change the world and, most importantly, that no one is left behind. Therefore, we bring our experience of over 45 years to, together with other organizations in the public, business and social sector, impact on 11 of the 17 SDGs, thus helping thousands of vulnerable people inside and outside Spain and turning people with intellectual disabilities into leaders of solidarity.

Thanks to the Solidarity Recycling Center of the Envera Special Employment Center, we donated humanitarian aid, food and basic necessities to Ukraine as well as to other NGOs such as the Red Cross, Mensajeros de la paz, Cáritas, Grupo Talía, CEAR, Fundación Atenea for homelessness care in the Madrid City Council, Voluntarios por África (Ethiopia), Escuela de Fútbol 'Vicente del Bosque' (Senegal), AUDE (Rwanda), Hombre nuevo, tierra nueva (Cuba), or Una medicina para Venezuela, among others.

Envera has been working since 1977 to achieve the full integration of people with disabilities through employment, which is undoubtedly the best social policy to end poverty. We provide stable and protected employment to more than 850 people with disabilities, being for many of them the only possible employment opportunity and, in some cases, the only economic income for their families.

Thanks to stable and protected employment, people have access to the resources they need to live, contributing to their social welfare and improving their quality of life and that of their families.

We firmly believe that education is essential to access a job, break down prejudices and promote equal opportunities. If we want to improve the world, we must start with education. That is why we implement customized training programs to the needs of each individual

Are we talking about women with disabilities? Our #InfluentialWomen show us every day that there are no impossible challenges if you have the necessary opportunities and support. We respond to the needs of mothers with intellectual disabilities and fight for their rights.

Efficiency must be measured in the creation of stable and protected jobs. In our Special Employment Centers (Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Tenerife and Gran Canaria) and in the companies that rely on Envera, more than 850 people with disabilities work at Envera and have a support unit for their labor and social welfare.

Real equality of opportunity for ALL people is the key to a more just world. With the necessary support and resources, we demonstrate that we can all be the best at something. To achieve this, we need the commitment of society as a whole, the business community and the public administration.

Sustainability is part of our DNA. If we want to improve society, we must do so through socially responsible and sustainable initiatives that allow us to move forward without leaving anyone behind. Envera, Influentials Award for Most Sustainable Organizationspeaks about this to companies at the Competitive Social Responsibility table at the Madrid Business Forum.

S_INVERTED SDG goals_icons-individual-RGB-13For Envera, the most important thing is people and also, of course, the environment that surrounds them. That is why in everything we do we take special care of nature, collaborating and promoting ecological and environmental initiatives such as the Envera Vegetable Garden or the Iberia Express Garden with which we involve people with disabilities, volunteers and companies.

Do we want a better and fairer world? To achieve this, we must have solid institutions committed to equality and social justice. We work with public administrations so that they are exemplary and respond to people's real needs.

Without the support of individuals, companies and organizations, none of this would be possible. Working on a "win-win" basis is the basis for developing social responsibility (CSR) policies that help to achieve a better world. that help to achieve a better world. We know this because Envera was born from the union of parents, Iberia employees, who wanted to show that their children were capable people. Today we have close to 200 collaborating entities. Together we are stronger

Although the 2030 Agenda was signed in 2015 by the Heads of State and Government of UN member countries, the organization itself warns that "urgent momentum is needed to achieve the SDGs, the organization itself warns that "urgent momentum is needed to achieve the SDGs.". For this reason, and because it is our mission, we continue to work tirelessly to achieve them.

Can you help us?
