Job creation: Envera starts up its new clean room

  • This initiative will allow the creation of jobs for people with disabilities through the professional services offered to specialized companies.
  • The clean room is part of the Envera Special Employment Center in Colmenar Viejo (Madrid).

Madrid | December 12, 2019

Envera - Asociación de Empleados de Iberia Padres de Personas con Discapacidad, has launched the Envera Clean Room in its Special Employment Center, integrated in the Integral Center for Disability that this social entity has in Colmenar Viejo (Madrid).

With this innovative project, which has the support of the ONCE Foundation and AEDIS, Envera continues the social mission it has been developing for more than 42 years: the creation of stable and supported employment for people with intellectual disabilities, thus promoting their social and labor inclusion.

The clean room will allow Envera, a non-profit organization whose transparency is accredited by the Fundación Lealtad, to offer new professional services for companies specializing in the food, parapharmacy and cosmetics sectors, among others, which require a high level of specialization and quality when handling their products.

In this way, Envera's disabled workers, after receiving specialized training, will be able to carry out the packaging, conditioning and handling of cosmetic, parapharmacy and food supplement products that require optimal hygiene conditions.

In addition, the Envera Clean Room, consisting of an innovative system with tube filling machine and linear weighers, has the Health Registration of the Spanish Association of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) and ISO 9001:2015, EN BASE BPF ISO-22716:2007 certification.

In the handling area, and thanks to the trust of collaborating companies, Envera has a professional team of more than 130 people, 98% of whom are disabled, 80% of whom are intellectually disabled.

Compliance with the General Disability Law

The General Disability Law (LGD) obliges companies with 50 or more employees to reserve a quota of 2% of their workforce for workers with disabilities.

In view of the difficulty for companies to comply with this law, this regulation is made more flexible by means of Alternative Measures regulated in Royal Decree 27/2000:

  • Donations to foundations or associations of public utility that promote training or labor insertion.
  • Contracting goods or services with a Special Employment Center.

By contracting its handling service with Envera, companies can comply with the LGD by making a responsible purchase that will revert to the promotion of labor integration of people with intellectual disabilities.
