Moeve Foundation and Envera - Association of Employees of Iberia Parents of People with Disabilities, have delivered to the Red Cross in Tenerife more than 200 ecological soaps handmade by people with disabilities to cover the basic hygiene needs of people in vulnerable situations.
The soaps have been prepared from the ashes of the fire that devastated the island in 2023, thanks to the project Vesta Envera: the resurgence after the flamesThe project, which won a Social Value Award in 2023, focuses on the regeneration of burned agricultural land through the training and job placement of 15 people with disabilities.
As one of the activities of the project, students and professionals from Envera made the natural soaps, which were delivered to the Red Cross, represented by its regional president in La Laguna, Alfonso Ramallo, and by the project manager, Esther Sosa. A meeting held at Envera's headquarters in Tenerife was also attended by the head of the Moeve Foundation in the Canary Islands, Belén Machado, and the general manager of Envera, Enrique Grande.
For Belén Machado, "it is a great satisfaction to see the result of a Social Value Award in such a tangible way as this delivery of soaps to the Red Cross to contribute to their distribution among vulnerable people. Added to the other benefits of Envera's project, especially the improvement of the qualification and job placement opportunities of a group of people with disabilities, while regenerating land affected by the fires, make this a very meaningful and valuable project".
For his part, Grande stressed that the 'Vesta Envera: the resurgence after the flames' project is "an example of Envera's mission and its values (inclusion, transparency, quality and innovation), as well as our commitment to sustainability and the UN Agenda 2030, increasing the qualifications and job placement opportunities of people with disabilities, preserving the environment and committed to partnerships that allow us to continue improving the lives of the most vulnerable people".
