The president of the Community of Madrid, Ángel Garrido, presided over the inauguration of the Envera Building together with the general director of the Montemadrid Foundation, Cristóbal Sánchez, and the president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero. The new center, located in Bahía de Pollensa street, in Madrid, has 48 residential places with an occupational center, of which 45 are public, as well as training classrooms and a job placement service for people with intellectual disabilities.

The event was also attended by the Regional Minister of Social Policies and Family of the Community of Madrid, María Dolores Moreno; the Deputy Regional Minister of Social Policies, Miriam Rabaneda; the Director General of Disability of the Community of Madrid, Jorge Jiménez de Cisneros; the general director of Family and Children of the Madrid City Council, Ana Buñuel; the president of Iberia, Luis Gallego; the president of Plena Inclusión Madrid, Mariano Casado; the vice president of Madrid Foro Empresarial, Armando Rodríguez; and representatives of the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Tutelar Envera.

With this inauguration, the Community of Madrid has 48 new residential places for people with intellectual disabilities in addition to the care services that Envera has been offering in its commitment to accompany people with disabilities throughout their lives: early care and neurodevelopment for children and young people, training, occupational center, leisure and sports, day center for people with a high degree of dependence, adult residence and residence for people over 45 years of age with premature aging.

During the inauguration, the attendees were able to see first hand the activities that are developed in this new occupational center for the maintenance of the cognitive and physical skills of the beneficiaries. Likewise, Ángel Garrido participated in Radio Terrícola, one of the occupational center's workshops, where the speakers asked the president about his favorite soccer team and his impression of the new residence.

In addition, the president of the Community of Madrid has met Antonio Martín "Michael", first photographer with intellectual disabilities in PHotoEspaña 2018 and beneficiary in this new residence, and has visited the training students, some of whom carry out internships in public administration thanks to agreements such as those that Envera maintains with the Community, the municipalities of Madrid and Colmenar Viejo or the Ministry of Economy and Business.

Finally, the president of Envera thanked the Community of Madrid, the City Council of the capital, the Montemadrid Foundation, the Iberia company and the trustees of the Envera Guardianship Foundation for their commitment to the welfare of people with disabilities and their support for the inauguration of the Envera Building "celebrating together that there are no impossible dreams and that with hard work, effort and perseverance we can conquer heights that seemed unattainable. Because, as Envera's motto says, we can all be the best at something".

For his part, Cristóbal Sánchez celebrated "the collaboration between public and private entities to provide the best response to the needs of society. People like Envera are essential: they open for the future. That is why the Envera Building is part of the Montemadrid Foundation's network of unique centers".

Garrido closed the inauguration ceremony by stating that the regional government wants to "serve as an example and reference for companies, organizations and institutions, so that this type of practice becomes commonplace in our region, offering these same opportunities to more entities and more people".

The President of Madrid pointed out that the Envera Building demonstrates "the capacity of the Community of Madrid, as a supportive and inclusive society" to achieve a shared objective: "a Madrid in which disability is just another circumstance of people and never an insurmountable obstacle to develop their life projects", he said.
