Canary Islands : October 27, 2023
Envera, representing the Regional Association of Special Employment Centers of Social Economy of the Canary Islands (ARCEESCAN), participated in the working forum organized by the Public Procurement Observatory of the Canary Islands on October 16 at the headquarters of the Red Cross in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The Forum met for the first time at a work, dialogue and meeting table with the participation of three key agents: the public administration, social enterprises, with special mention of special employment centers (CEE), and the university.
The experts have been able to share strategies and forge commitments for the promotion of the "reservation of contracts" to social enterprises and the inclusion of "social and environmental clauses" in the contracting specifications. As indicated by the organizers of the conference, it was "a key day for the promotion of "Responsible Public Procurement in the Canary Islands" - and they add - "a magnificent opportunity for the social and solidarity economy in the Canary Islands".
Marta Cacho, head of Envera's Delegation in Gran Canaria, participated on behalf of Envera, which has held the presidency of ARCEESCAN since 2013. ARCEESCAN is a sectoral and regional organization that represents the main Special Employment Centers of Social Initiative (non-profit) that employ more than 750 professionals with disabilities in the Canary Islands.
ARCEESCAN is formed by Inserta and Ilunion (ONCE Social Group), COMPSI, Destiladera, Granja Adisfuer, Mecánicas Crisol, Laborsord and Envera; and is part of FEACEM (Spanish Business Federation of CEE Associations).
