The new president of Iberia, Fernando Candela, has celebrated in a special way the weekly meeting of its Management Committee (CODIR). This Tuesday, the airline's top executives visited Envera's Integral Disability Center in Colmenar Viejo (Madrid), an example of the important relationship that both organizations have maintained since the birth of Envera, in 1977, at the initiative of Iberia employees.
The CODIR's visit to Envera's headquarters, which has become an annual tradition, began with a working meeting in the Envera Library, which houses the table of what was Iberia's first steering committee formed in the middle of the last century.
Then, accompanied by the president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, and its general manager, Enrique Grande, they toured the Support and Care Services (Day Center and Occupational Center) and the special employment center where, among other jobs, the cartoning of the toiletry bags that Iberia delivers on board its airplanes is carried out.
In addition to this service, Envera and Iberia work together to promote the employment of people with disabilities in the aeronautical field, improve the services with which Envera accompanies people with intellectual disabilities throughout their life cycle, comply with the General Law on Disability and provide support to other NGOs in the form of material and food donations.
A joint effort that has a direct impact on 11 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN's 2030 Agenda.
As a culmination, Candela and her team have participated in a special program of Radio Terrícola made by people with intellectual disabilities from Envera.
