"Together we are stronger" on Radio Terrícola. Program 42

Madrid | May 14, 2020

A chat with an old friend, imaginative proposals to occupy leisure time, a succulent cooking recipe and a sea voyage aboard a sailboat were the topics addressed today in program 42 of this Thursday (there is no program on Friday) in which even a chotis was played to remember the San Isidro festivities.

DAVID FERRERO, from home, began by recalling those patron saint festivities at the IslAzul Shopping Center, which this year will be held at the Envera headquarters with the residents and the colleagues who care for them.

FABIÁN CIERCO recalled with gratitude his training internship at Envera, two years ago, which he remembers as very enriching: "three fun weeks in which I learned a lot". He said that since then he sees things in a different way, trying to build: "Always look at the positive side and always move forward". Before the emotional memory of his grandfather, Eduardo Cierco referred to his studies at home, with difficulties at the beginning, but already overcome because "if you stay blocked in the face of adversity you get nothing". We were delighted to learn that his main lesson from Envera was that we are a great team.

GRACIELA RODRÍGUEZ, a graduate in biology, but also in comparative literature, has read a poem about the cranes that she once saw passing over the sky of Recoletos and now, from confinement, cannot see although she carries them inside: "I, who am earth from earth, fly with them".

JONÁS PAZ, Iberia's digital volunteer with Envera, or "daddy planner" as his children call him, has made his debut on the radio giving imaginative ideas to occupy the leisure time of the holiday weekend. Movies, reading, board games (especially one called "Abremente" for different age ranges and others of his own) have given an idea of his inventiveness. For example, the homemade bowling alley he makes with plastic bottles filled with water and a half-weight ball. "The greatest reward is when I go to bed with my children to review the day's activities," he said, before encouraging us to do sports every day and even to be brave and make rosquillas del santo to celebrate the holidays.

JOSEMI PARRA, chef of Alma Cheli, has given his recipe for "Charito's Russian salad", a delicious tribute to his wife, who is absent.

Among its tricks to spread: make just the right amount so as not to refrigerate it because it loses its texture, and whisk the mayonnaise with a splash of olive oil and the rest of sunflower oil. For the rest, it can be made with the basic ingredients (potato, carrot, boiled eggs, tuna and pickles for the crunchy and vinegar touch) or with pieces of hake and even use roe and cherry tomatoes to decorate. He said goodbye saying: "love each other very much, it's only two days". We take note.

AMADEO MELER has talked with PABLO ANGULO, partner of the CEE of Gran Canaria, and enormous sportsman of Canarian lateen sailing, competition now stopped by the situation that we live. Pablo told us that the boat in which he competes has 11 people plus the skipper, and sails quite far from the coast. We have learned that 13 boats compete in the regattas and that his boat, called Roconublo, has been built by hand by its owner. Pablo is a complete sportsman who participated in the 1998 Envera Olympics in soccer and is currently working in the production of cutlery for the island hospital. Interviewee and interviewer have a date in the Canary Islands in front of a good plate of mojo picón. The program ended with Amadeo wishing a "fetén" San Isidro. May it be so.
