The Military Emergency Unit (UME) and Envera have once again joined forces to produce a special Radio Terrícola program on the occasion of World Radio Day, which is commemorated, under the umbrella of UNESCO, every February 13. The radio program, recorded from the General Headquarters at the Torrejón Air Base, was opened by the UME's chief general, presented by Envera's students with intellectual disabilities and counted with the participation of military personnel from different UME sections.

Upon arrival at the headquarters, the Envera delegation, headed by its president, José Antonio Quintero, was received by the head general of the UME, Francisco Javier Marcos.

Lieutenant Colonel Alberto Modino, head of the First Intervention Battalion, and Major Manuel Gonzalez, head of the Public Communication Office of the UME, have been in charge of breaking the ice in the special program on the mobile unit of Radio Terrícola.

Another of the interviewees was Second Lieutenant José Luis Silva, auxiliary of the 9th Section of the First Intervention Battalion of the UME, who told viewers and listeners about the different tasks carried out by the UME, as well as its organization and resources, and how to access the military who wish to belong to the unit.

For his part, Brigadier Juan Antonio Mora, from the USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) section, spoke about the operations carried out by the EMU in other countries, the work of its rescue dogs and gave advice on how to avoid forest fires, another of the missions carried out by the EMU in support of the emergency services.

Dr. Francisco Javier López, Volunteer Reservist Captain, shared in the microphones his extensive experience as an intensivist doctor who has participated in four international missions and has a good knowledge of the world of emergencies in both the civilian and military aspects.

After the broadcast of the program, which was closed by Lieutenant Colonel Modino and Envera's General Director, Enrique Grande, the students enjoyed a guided tour of the UME Headquarters.
