"Talent is the gold of the 21st century". This is how forceful Claudia Tecglen, director of Convives con Espasticidad and a person whose cerebral palsy has not prevented her from starting up her own foundation, was at the start of the Conference Talent without labels, the greatest entrepreneurial capital which was held this morning on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3) at the Cupra City Garage in Madrid and which also included the participation of África Jiménez, Deputy Director of Institutional Relations and CSR at Ineco; Judith Álvarez, General Manager of Business Development at Normmal; and David Camps, Head of Social Innovation at DKV.
During the meeting, organized by the Madrid Foro Empresarial's Competitive Responsibility Roundtable (CSR), which Envera coordinates, the four guests shared their experiences and their vision of inclusive employment as a differentiating element that brings "strategic value" to companies.
The representatives of Ineco and DKV pointed out the importance of talent for companies, a factor that undoubtedly "has an impact on the income statement".

Jiménez explained the pillars on which Ineco's diversity strategy is developed and which has materialized in its Equal Plan. Thedetermination of the management team, establishingvery clear selectionprocessesto avoid bias and creating an organizational culture that promotes these values are the keys that have enabled this public engineering company to become a benchmark in inclusion through employment.
For Camps "sustainability and CSR strategies are attractive and fundamental for attracting and retaining talent", which he exemplified in the social work carried out by the DKV Foundation as an attraction for new employees. He also explained how the insurer promotes interaction between senior talent and young talent and the employment of people with disabilities.
Álvarez assured that "a company that bases its personnel selection on prejudice is a bad strategy" and stressed that one of the main difficulties faced by human resources recruiters is the ability to access talent. "At Normmal we were born convinced that diversity not only enriches us, it also makes us better", explained the director of the agency that "unites media and creativity to add talent".
Based on data provided by leading consulting firms such as McKinsey - inclusive companies have a 25% chance of outperforming the competition - the speakers agreed that promoting inclusive talent and employment is "profitable" for companies, "reduces staff turnover" and prevents talent drain.

However, as Tecglen pointed out, there is still a long way to go in this regard. "I am a lecturer, a psychologist, I have a master's degree in communication, I have been trained at IESE and in the United States, and when I sit at a table to negotiate, what they look at is my disability."
"What I ask of companies is that they give people with disabilities an opportunity to show what we are capable of doing. Because only those who live a different reality can have a different vision, and that is something fundamental that people with disabilities bring to companies."
