From the end of October through February 2022, the cooking course organized by Envera in the Community of Madrid, which has the support of the ONCE Foundation and the European Union and, in addition to being free of charge for the students, has a scholarship for each of them with 300 euros. This training is aimed at young people with intellectual disabilities between 16 and 30 years old, job seekers and registered in the Youth Guarantee System.
After completing the course, which provides them with the knowledge and skills necessary to improve their chances of entering the labor market, the students will receive an accreditation as kitchen assistants. Fifty percent (5 students) of those who completed the last course, which ended last June, already have an employment contract.
During the training period, Envera students learn from chef Javier González García, culinary techniques and processes, occupational risk prevention, social and labor skills, as well as customer service culture. With all this, they have completed 260 hours of theoretical and practical training, complemented by 150 hours of internships in hospitality companies.
