Barcelona - August 28, 2023
The Solidarity Recycling Center that Envera launched in 2016 in Madrid has become, on the one hand, a benchmark for the solidarity recycling of suitcases and objects lost in airplanes and airports and, on the other, the heart of a network of alliances that this non-profit organization has created with other NGOs and that already helps 25,000 vulnerable people and families inside and outside Spain. This initiative is now reinforced with the launch of a second Solidarity Recycling Center in Envera's Barcelona office.
Although Envera's work is focused on caring for people with disabilities, accompanying them throughout their lives so that they can take their place in the world with dignity, thanks to the Solidarity Recycling Center it has also become an organization that supports more than a dozen social entities such as the Red Cross, Caritas, Messengers of Peace, Vicente del Bosque Soccer School (Senegal), Volunteers for Africa - Fair World (Ethiopia), Grupo TalĂa Concertante, AUDE (Rwanda), Hombre nuevo tierra nueva (Cuba), San JosĂ© Foundation and Yellow Duck, among others.
A pioneering circular economy and job creation project
The project is linked to Envera Inclusion Pointa pioneering recycling and circular economy initiative in Europe, developed thanks to the CSR of Nuveen Real Estate (Islazul) and Carmila - Carrefour, where lost objects are offered for sale at a solidarity price, and which has led to the creation of 12 jobs for people with disabilities, both in the Islazul (Madrid), Carrefour de la Imagen (Pozuelo de AlarcĂłn) and Carrefour Prat (Barcelona) shopping centers, and in the Solidarity Recycling Centers.
Both initiatives enable Envera and the companies that support its work to impact eleven of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda established by the UN.
