"Together we are stronger" on Radio Terrícola. Program 47

Madrid | May 22, 2020

Today's program began with high flights and ended with a conversation between friends. Meanwhile, we have come to taste some heavenly croquettes, proving that the magic of radio is capable of transmitting through the airwaves sensations that reach the palate. And of course, to the soul, like the poetry read by a granddaughter very proud of her grandmother, a true song to the mothers of our fathers.

Radio Terrícola began its journey today just when the Resi Bingo started, with the greeting of Lucía, waving her hand. And the choral birthday greeting to the first guest.

MAMEN SARRIÁ, member of the Board of Directors and Representative of Iberia's Flight Attendants, acknowledged that now they fly just enough, so he takes the opportunity to enjoy his home because "we have to look for the positive". He told us that he performs a liaison task consisting of conveying the concerns of the flight committee to the Envera Board. Among others, his function is to make Envera's role known among the new flight attendants, some of whom have family members with disabilities who "applaud an association like yours". About her day-to-day life, she said that she does not have to travel a lot to get to know places "because there is no time to go beyond the airport". It has been a pleasure to have her company and for her and all the Iberia TCP, who do so much for Envera, we have said goodbye with a big applause.

MANUEL CAMACHO, technician at the Envera Occupational Center, as a teacher of learning, has acknowledged the overload of work they have experienced these months in the homes for the elderly, a group so vulnerable that they have felt a fear that has then reverted to a sense of victory. It is true that many children have been in the hospital, but they have returned, like Carmen Miranda. According to Manu, the experience was very tough, but very positive, especially because of the teamwork: "It was not the time to think about the difficulties, but to smile". And he says this after having gone through the worst in the red zone wearing his PPE, which he is looking forward to replacing with a biker suit. It's not long now because he has arranged with Jesús de Frutos to go by motorcycle to the call of a "patatas revolconas", which Adrián also plans to try. The latter said goodbye to Manuel saying the best compliment: "I wish there were more people like you in the world". And a new round of applause broke out.

Last minute: Esther draws number 80, eight-zero, in the Resi Bingo, from where she sends a greeting to Manu. The excitement makes the drum scatter the luck on the floor.

BELEN HERNÁNDEZ, Iberia Flight Attendant and Envera digital volunteer, spoke from Salamanca, beginning by congratulating Adrián with the best words: "the arrival of a baby is the most beautiful gift you can receive and shows the capacity of human beings to love". Such a poetic thought served as a prelude to the poem dedicated to his grandmother Nati, which he then read to us. She dedicated it to the grandparents who have not seen their grandchildren for a long time and to the vocational teachers, as her grandmother was: "the heart full of tenderness". How not to send her off with a rapturous applause!

JOSEMI PARRA, chef of Alma Cheli, has gone from poetry to the prosaic without interruption. So he has revealed to us in absolute scoop the secrets of his famous croquettes. Namely: move the dough, if possible with a bar, for 20 minutes, "even if it comes out like a tennis arm"; heat the milk before adding it to the dough; and once the dough has cooled, at least for a day, cover it with plastic wrap or lightly butter the surface to prevent it from oxidizing. The final touch is to coat first in breadcrumbs, then in beaten egg and again in breadcrumbs to ensure the crunchy texture.

The premiere of the new tune of the program, in universal premiere, has given way to the section "SOMOS DEPORTIVOS", directed by AMADEO MELER, today in conversation with CARLOS GUACHINAZA, Icaro-Envera athlete, key man in the lineups of coach Alfredo. He said he is looking forward to return to competition, but in good physical shape. And as he is an example of self-improvement, he has received another great applause from Radio Terrícola.

TINO CASTELLANO, director of the Municipal Sports Service of the City Council of Ingenio (Gran Canaria), and a great friend of Amadeo, has looked back 12 years ago, when the first project with Envera was carried out in the Canary Islands, nothing less than an Olympic Games. He acknowledged that that marked a before and after in the relationship between the two organizations: it was "the beginning of a great friendship". In a friendly conversation, he and Amadeo talked about the Envera Occupational Center in Ingenio and the second headquarters of Radio Terricola, which broadcasts from the Canary Islands. Regarding the opening of the swimming pools, the decision is still up in the air and he does not know when the Envera children will be able to attend, although "sooner rather than later, we will return to normality".

We end a week of overwhelming radio activity for the times we live in and a week also of hope placed in the reunion with our loved ones, with all our residents, with the training students, the users of the occupational centers, our dear children of Early Childhood Care and with all the families, who have contributed so much to improve the worst moments of this pandemic.

Monday we are back with maximum energy and amazing content for all of you, don't miss it! And remember that "Together we are stronger".

Enjoy and be happy.
