The president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, and the mayoress of the Villa de Ingenio, Ana Hernández, have visited the delegation of Envera in Gran Canaria to inaugurate the new Occupational Center that this non-profit organization has launched with thirty places for people with intellectual disabilities.

The visit and inauguration was also attended by the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Juan Díaz; the Councilor for Social Services, Equality and Presidency of the Ingenio City Council, Elena Suárez; the Councilor for Accessibility, Education and Solidarity, Lorena Quintana; the President of Envera, José Antonio Quintero; and the Director of Envera's headquarters in Gran Canaria, Marta Cacho.

Envera - Asociación de Empleados de Iberia Padres de Personas con Discapacidad, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Asociación Pequeño Valiente to favor the attention and social inclusion of children affected by childhood cancer and who have some kind of disability. The presidents of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, and Pequeño Valiente, José Juan Jerez, have signed this Tuesday in the Envera delegation in Gran Canaria an agreement to join efforts and work together so that no child is left without the assistance they need and to speed up the procedures so that the youngest can receive the disability certificate.

The spokesperson of the Madrid City Council and delegate of the Security and Emergencies Area, Inmaculada Sanz, attended this morning the presentation of Envera's solidarity calendar, with which this year pays tribute to the municipal emergency service SAMUR-Protección Civil.

The event, which took place at the Palacio de Cibeles, was attended by the general director of emergencies, Enrique López; the deputy director of SAMUR-Protección Civil, Carmen Camacho; and the president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, as well as students and beneficiaries of this social entity who, after the event, paid a visit to the Plenary Hall.

Envera - Asociación de Empleados de Iberia Padres de Personas con Discapacidad, has launched the Envera Clean Room in its Special Employment Center, integrated in the Integral Disability Center that this social entity has in Colmenar Viejo (Madrid).

With this innovative project, which has the support of the ONCE Foundation and AEDIS, Envera continues the social mission it has been developing for more than 42 years: the creation of stable and supported employment for people with intellectual disabilities, thus promoting their social and labor inclusion.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Envera organized a cineforum on the documentary short film El vuelo de Michael that tells the story of the world's only terrevuelo commander, Antonio Martín "Michael", an Envera beneficiary and multifaceted artist whose enthusiasm for audiovisual creations has led him to become in 2018 the first photographer with intellectual disabilities to be part of the prestigious PHotoEspaña festival with his exhibition Al borde del aeropuerto (On the edge of the airport).

The cineforum was held at the Casa de Vacas cultural center in El Retiro (Madrid), and was attended by the delegate of the Area of Families, Equality and Social Welfare of the Madrid City Council, Pepe Aniorte; the filmmaker Fernando Colomo; the head of corporate social responsibility (CSR) of Iberia, Alba Barrantes; the protagonist of the short film, Antonio Martín "Michael"; and its director, Jesús de Frutos.
